The GOODS from The Liberty Distillery

Vancouver, BC | There is a new ‘outlaw’ in town ready to surprise and capture the hearts of spirit lovers, masters of mixology, and those who dare!

The Liberty Distillery will launch Railspur No. 3 Spike, a barley based aged spirit on Friday, October 9th, 2015 just in time to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving. It’s triple distilled in a single copper pot still from 100% BC organic barley and then barrel aged for just under one year in used Bourbon barrels. Having not been barrel-aged for a minimum of three years, Railspur No. 3 Spike is neither a ‘white dog’ nor a full-aged whiskey.

“We wanted to offer spirit lovers a peek at how a newborn whiskey tastes before it grows up” says co-owner Robert Simpson. Inspired by the unique indigenous spirits of other countries, Railspur No. 3 Spike is a twist on a traditional whiskey. It will astonish your palate with complex flavours of vanilla, sarsaparilla, dried fruits and spice. At 45% alc./vol. one sip reveals an intricate bouquet with a smooth muscular body and a powerful long finish that will delight all spirit aficionados.

Curious? Come help celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with style and tradition! We invite you to a free tasting sample of Railspur No. 3 Spike, or enjoy our newest Signature Cocktail for ONLY $6.00 all day from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm in our Cocktail Lounge on Saturday, October 10th, 2015.

Railspur No. 3 Spike will retail for $49.99 plus tax (750mL bottles – limited release). Prices will vary at private liquor stores.

ABOUT THE LIBERTY DISTILLERY

DSC_9737-Edit
The Liberty Distillery established in 2010 on BC’s historic Granville Island is a true artisanal distillery. Selecting only the best BC organic grains, The Liberty Distillery carefully ferments, then triple-distills in their traditional hand-crafted copper pot stills configured with two sequential rectification columns, to produce premium quality spirits with true character and distinction.

A family business, the Distillery is the realization of a long-held dream of Liberty Wine Merchants founder Robert Simpson and wife Lisa Simpson. Inspired by 35-plus years in the wine and spirit industry, Robert is legendary for his discerning tasting palate, presentations at the Annual Aspen Food and Wine Conference for more than 20 years, participating in tasting panels domestically and internationally, and is a well sought-after wine tasting expert. Lisa is a former international trade consultant/finance guru, culinary/pastry chef, business coach turned spiritpreneur.

People often ask “why Liberty”? The answer is simple. The meaning of Liberty embodies and articulates the very foundation on which The Liberty Distillery was built. Life and liberty…it is about creating, sharing, learning, educating, and inspiring.

Authenticity, quality, and heritage are the heart of The Liberty Distillery’s philosophy. “We’re passionate about our craft and are inspired by the exacting art of distillation” shares Lisa Simpson. The Liberty Distillery’s Mission is dedicated to… ‘hand craft the finest innovative and unique spirits from quality BC ingredients using traditional artisan distillation methods that inspire and contribute to the world of spirits’. We distill with one thought…”Make the best spirits we possibly can”.
