A Better Life Foundation is pleased to announce that Executive Chef William Tse of Centerplate @ BC Place Stadium will be taking over the kitchen at Save on Meats to prepare a menu of diner style dishes to raise money for DTES charities.

Tse, the 2013 BC Chef of the Year and Chinese Chef of the year will be creating a multi-course dinner of diner-inspired dishes on May 19th in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Two seatings will be served, with all the proceeds from the dinner going to A Better Life Foundation and their food-focussed partner charities.

UK-born and Canadian-raised, Chef Tse has worked in a number of Vancouver’s top restaurants and hotels, honing his technique and developing his “local-first” food philosophy. Seamlessly blending Western and Pacific Rim influences and techniques, his West Coast Cuisine is deeply rooted in sustainable sourcing within a community of mutually supportive suppliers and restaurateurs.

“I jumped at the chance to cook for the next event in the Greasy Spoon Diner Supper Series”, said Tse. “Vancouver has given me so much, what a better way to give back to such a diverse community? It’s a great opportunity for me and my team to have a little fun with food, and create a four-course diner inspired menu for a super group of people. Creating great food for a great cause, what else can you ask for?”

Each course of the menu will be paired with locally-sourced drinks and the price for dinner is just $95 per person including taxes and gratuity. It’s a heck of a deal for a night of fantastic food and philanthropy.
