by Grady Mitchell | On Thursday, January 15th, Bryan Adams will visit Inform Interior’s Gastown location. No, it won’t be an intimate performance. Although obviously best known for his music, Adams also boasts an illustrious career as a photographer, and he’ll be signing copies of two of his books, Wounded: The Legacy of War, and Exposed.
In the late 90s Adams began making self-portraits for his album covers, but before long he spun the camera around to capture other subjects. Exposed contains portraits of masterful performers spanning the entire spectrum of the arts, people like Morrissey, Ben Kingsley, Amy Winehouse, Mickey Rourke, Michael Jackson and Judi Dench.
His second book, Wounded: The Legacy of War, is far from the glamour of pop culture. Through intimate images of the wounds sustained by military personnel in today’s conflicts, Adams catalogues the sacrifices asked of our soldiers and the toll of their service.
Adams will be hanging around from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. You can grab copies of the books online at Inform’s site, and if you already own them, you can email Inform to book a spot for the event.
