2013 Sommelier of the Year, Araxi Wine Director Samantha Rahn, in collaboration with award-winning Executive Chef James Walt, are curating an intimate wine dinner featuring Nik Weis, proprietor of Germany’s legendary St. Urbans-Hof Winery. Chef Walt will prepare special reception canapés followed by a five course tasting menu matched to the wines and redolent of late spring’s finest local ingredients – from the coastal fishery to Pemberton Valley farms and ranches.

Located in western Germany’s historic Mosel Valley and one of Germany’s foremost wineries, St. Urbans-Hof is notable for its superb and diverse portfolio of rieslings. With grapes grown on the family’s 33 acre estate on the 50th parallel (the same as Whistler), St. Urban-Hof’s premium wines consistently rate in the mid to high 90’s as scored in Wine Spectator and The Wine Advocate.
