The GOODS from The Biltmore Cabaret

Vancouver, BC | The wait is finally over! The exclusive Vancouver screening of FILMAGE: The Story of Descendents/ALL goes down at the Biltmore Cabaret on Wednesday, January 15th. It follows band leader/drummer/square-peg Bill Stevenson and his “caffeinated retardedness” as he pushes his rotating door of bandmates to “achieve ALL,” his philosophy of going for greatness at all costs. Stevenson is a force to be reckoned with, proving that not even a grapefruit-sized brain tumor can keep him down. Interviews with the band, along with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Mike Watt (Minutemen), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion) and many more reveal the story of a band – if not THE band – responsible for pop-punk as you know it. Long before Green Day and Blink 182 inflicted punk-rock’s puncture wound on the map of mainstream music, the Descendents were in a garage concocting the perfect mix of pop, angst, love, and coffee. Vancouver’s B-LINES and RAD DISASTER will play following the screening, with DJ sets by Russian Tim, of ‘Rocket from Russia’ on CiTR 101.9FM. Details and trailer after the jump…

When: Wednesday January 15th – doors at 8pm

blights1

For over 50 years, the Biltmore has been a fixture in the community as both a public house for Vancouverites and a platform for groundbreaking musical performances.

With the revitalization of historic Mount Pleasant, the bar was reopened in 2007 as The Biltmore Cabaret, with a fresh focus to recapture its musical tradition. Drawing from the rich local scene in Vancouver as well as the best in Canadian and international touring acts, The Biltmore Cabaret showcases talent from across a wide spectrum of music and the arts.

We have a fantastic sound and lighting system at The Biltmore, check out our full tech specs here.
