The GOODS from Mission Hill Family Estate

West Kelowna, BC | The artists are larger than life, the venue is iconic and the concerts will be legendary. The line-up is now confirmed and Mission Hill Family Estate is proud to announce the performers appearing this summer at the winery’s spectacular outdoor Amphitheatre. The four live musical performances include a special return engagement by Chris Botti on Friday, July 12, and with the first-ever Okanagan wine country appearances by the legendary Gipsy Kings on Saturday, July 27, two time Grammy Award-winner LeAnn Rimes on Sunday, July 28 and the worldly musical adventure of Pink Martini on Friday, August 9.

In previous years, the intimate performances at Mission Hill’s 1,000-seat Amphitheatre have been in high demand and have quickly sold out. Tickets for the 2013 performances will go on sale on Wednesday, April 24 and are expected to once again sell out quickly as these legendary concerts become the hallmark of a summer visit to the Okanagan Valley. The concerts at Mission Hill provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these artists perform in one of Canada’s premiere outdoor concert venues.

With the creation of the Amphitheatre, Proprietor Anthony von Mandl, a strong proponent of the arts, created a unique opportunity to enjoy live music performances in an unrivalled setting. Situated on a prominent hill rising above the Okanagan Valley with majestic mountains and a scenic lake creating the perfect backdrop, guests enjoy a gorgeous summer evening of music, wine and cuisine at a concert venue unlike any other. This spectacular venue attracts celebrated artists from around the world who are searching to engage with their fans on a more intimate level. Artists that have graced the stage at Mission Hill in the past include: Chris Botti, Chris Isaak, Lyle Lovett, The Tenors and Wil Campa, among others. For artists normally reserved for much larger venues, the small capacity Amphitheatre provides a rare treat for those in attendance.

Artists Appearing Live at Mission Hill in 2013:

Chris Botti – Friday, July 12: Mission Hill welcomes the triumphant return of multi Grammy Award-winning jazz artist Chris Botti who returns to the winery for the second consecutive year. Since the release of his critically acclaimed CD When I Fall in Love, Chris Botti has become the largest selling American jazz instrumental artist. Botti has sold more than 3 million albums and performed alongside some of the biggest names in music, including Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Josh Groban, and Michael Bublé.

Gipsy Kings – Saturday, July 27: The Gipsy Kings have sold more than 14 million albums and will bring their vigorous guitar work and passion as they introduce fans to ‘Rumba Gitano’ – the sound of South America’s rumba rhythm married to flamenco guitars. The audience at Mission Hill will experience the platinum-selling artists for the first time in Okanagan wine country in the spectacular setting of Mission Hill’s open-air Amphitheatre.

LeAnn Rimes – Sunday, July 28: LeAnn Rimes has sold more than 40 million albums, won two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards and 12 Billboard Music Awards. She is the youngest recipient of a Grammy Award and was also the first country recording artist to win in the ‘Best New Artist’ category. Following the launch of her new album Spitfire, LeAnn Rimes will be sharing a peek into her world through her lyrics while lighting up the stage at Mission Hill.

Pink Martini – Friday, August 9: Featuring 10-12 musicians on stage, Pink Martini, ‘the little orchestra’ will perform their multilingual repertoire in the Okanagan Valley for the first time. At one moment, the audience at Mission Hill could feel like they are in the middle of a samba parade in Rio de Janeiro, and in the next they are in a French music hall of the 1930s or a palazzo in Napoli. It will seem a bit like an urban musical travelogue, but really, it will all take place at Mission Hill.

Tickets for all shows go on sale on Wednesday, April 24 at 10:00 am with concert tickets starting at $99 each. Mission Hill Family Estate is also offering 3 Experiential Packages to enable guests to enjoy an unforgettable evening of food, wine and song. The packages are:

Package #1: Terrace Dinner & Concert
Includes reserved concert seating and a 3-course pre-set seasonally inspired dining experience with wine pairings and breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Okanagan at the award-winning Terrace Restaurant. Dinner is by advance reservation between 5:00-6:00 pm. Available seating for the popular Dinner & Concert Packages is reserved for a maximum of 70 guests.

Package #2: Loggia Wine Lounge & Concert
Includes reserved concert seating and access to the winery’s outdoor covered Loggia gallery adjacent to the Amphitheatre. Along with a reserved seat, guests will have exclusive access to the Loggia and be treated to wine service and hors d’oeuvres prior to the concert. The Loggia Wine Lounge will begin at 6:00 pm. This experiential package is available for a maximum of 75 guests.

Package #3: Reception & Concert
Includes reserved seating concert admission and access to the winery’s Visitor’s Centre. Along with a reserved seat, guests will be treated to wine service and hors d’oeuvres prior to the concert. The Reception & Concert will begin at 6:00 pm. This popular pre-concert reception is limited to 100 guests.
