Tea & Two Slices: Christy Clark Is A Witch, Teachers Are Hitler And Dogs Are Just Dogs

by Sean Orr | The Georgia Straight tells us that premier Christy Clark and professional imploder Sarah Palin share some remarkable similarities. To be fair, Clark also sounds a bit like non-witch Christine O’Donnell when she says she knows her way around a broom while cleaning up after the riot (hmm…that sounds an awful lot like she just admitted she was a witch!)

BCTF does itself no favours with demands, says The Province. When they write lines like “as is so often the case in BC’s hysterically politicized public education system,” aren’t they hysterically politicizing the public education system? Remember kids, these are the same journalists that publish the right-wing Fraser Institute’s so-called “report card” every year as though it was gospel.

Across the ideological divide at The Tyee, we’re told that a Province cartoon compares teachers to Hitler. Really? I don’t see what the big deal is. I had some pretty authoritarian teachers back in the day… (Yeah, I’m looking at you, Mr. Layne)

In the Globe, we find anti-poverty “activists” are saying that thousands of disabled people have been denied legislated benefits. Is it really necessary to include the “activist” label? Couldn’t you just have said “expert” or “‘advocate”?

Dog turns up in B.C. after going missing in Montreal. Apparently, it was seen with dreadlocks and holding a squeegee at the corner of Main and Terminal. Tabernac!

Speaking of canines, CBC News puts voice to the outraged after a police dog was left in a hot SUV for several hours on Vancouver Island while its off-duty minder went fishing.

Boathouse owner Lita Seymonsbergen says the dog was hot and in obvious distress. “You couldn’t get near him because he was totally panicking,” said Seymonsbergen. Const. Mitch Fiddick said it was okay to keep the dog in the vehicle in the parked in the sun on a hot day because it had special training.

Yeah, plus how else are they supposed to make them super angry and ready to attack?

Wildlife rescuers use hand puppet to feed young raven. And I am no longer angry about anything.
