The San Jose Sharks just defeated the Detroit Red Wings in Game 7 of their semi-final, which means the Canucks will face San Jose this Sunday at 5pm when the Western Conference Finals get rolling. I’m glad Detroit’s gone, and not just because of the shorter travel time that a bout in California affords our guys. Mostly I’m psyched knowing how buck wild the mainstream media is going to go for the weakly flavoured, low-hanging analogy fruit off the “Orcas vs Sharks” tree (go ahead and predict the headlines). Let’s just hope the contest goes the same way it would in the wild, with shark bits being pooped out by a happy killer whale for days and giggles (video hat tip: KK).
