Ee-Aye-Ee-Aye-Ohh! “From Field To Feast” At Polderside Farms…

There’s a big, country-style dinner going down out at Polderside Farms on August 30th. I toured the farm and spent some time with farmers Virginia and Jens-Hugo Jacobsen a couple of years back with some chefs after they first went into production and was impressed by their operation (they’re really nice people, too). As recipients of last year’s Vancouver magazine Supplier of the Year award, they’re well loved by the local cooking community for their humane production of superb poultry (ever had the fried chicken at Fuel – wow). The dinner, dubbed “From Field To Feast”, sounds pretty wonderful. From the presser:

Dinner will be served on tables draped in white linen, under a marquee tent. Local wine and beer will be paired with each entrée. You will be serenaded by the award winning “The Wheat in the Barley”, a Celtic-rural blend that will set the mood for the evening while you enjoy the mouthwatering tastes of Polderside’s wonderful heritage chicken and duck, along with other organic foods from the Fraser Valley.
