The first and not the last rendering of the new Habit Lounge at 2610 Main Street just landed on my desk, courtesy of two of the owners, David Nicolay and Rob Edmonds (to view the full image, just click it).

This is what it used to look like before the fire on Sunday, December 7th (“a date that will live in infamy,” said Franklin D. Roosevelt)…

As our restaurant wonk readers are well aware, Nicolay and Edmonds are also the principals behind the prolific design firm Evoke. So whatever it ends up looking like, we’re well prepared for it being a well considered vision and something of a smoothly modern looker. They’ve done many Vancouver rooms over the last decade, among them Glowbal, Sanafir, the new Irish Heather, The Cascade Room, and – most recently – they completed Latitude , co-owned by David Nicolay’s big brother Larry (see photos of Latitude below)…
