Whistler, BC | Whistler Brewing Co’s Brewmaster, Joe Goetz, first brewed the Winter Dunkel in November 2010 for a small group of key restaurants and specialty beer cafes.  The recipe was so unique and such a hit that production for 2011 has been expanded and includes a limited release of 650ml bottles for take home as well draft beer for the hospitality trade.  Following the sell-out successes of the prior limited release beers (Paradise Valley Grapefruit Ale and Valley Trail Chestnut Ale), the Winter Dunkel is expected to sell quickly in both retail stores and restaurants and bars. Whistler, BC | For this holiday season, we have brewed a special Dunkelweizen beer with a twist. Our Brewmaster has adapted this classic, filtered dark wheat beer into a unique festive beer. Brewed using 100% organic chocolate from the Whistler Chocolate Company, a blend of spices and a twist of orange zest. Delicious, complex malts and light citrus balancing notes present a soft hint of festive, seasonal flavours. On the palate you experience a rich beer with toffee, chocolate taste. The bitterness from the hops is just enough to compensate for the rich malty flavours without leaving a distinct note. All this is accompanied by a distinct bitterness from the bitter orange. in March this year, the Company has received many and repeated emails from both customers and the public asking when the special release will be back. In the 5 month interim, the folks at Whistler Brewing entered the special release Black Tusk Ale in both the 2010 World Beer Cup and the 2010 World Beer awards, where it won medals in both world championships.
