Vancouver, BC | On Saturday, February 12, Red Card celebrates Canada’s game in style thanks to 18 high-def screens, a glowing cocktail bar, delicious Italian-style pizzas, impeccable service, an impressive beer list, a late-night menu and Vancouver Canucks prizes. Red Card is the place downtown to catch all the NHL action and some Canadian spirit for this highly anticipated game day.
Throughout Red Card’s ‘Hockey Day in Canada’ party, guests will have a chance to win an assortment of prizes, including coveted box seat tickets to the March 16th Canucks vs. Colorado Avalanche home game. Hockey lovers can also enjoy delicious pizzas prepared in the high-tech Marana Forni wood-burning pizza oven imported straight from Italy, and sip on Stanley Park 1897 Ale for only $3.50/sleeve.
During the 2010-2011 hockey season, which runs until April 9th, Red Card hopes to raise upwards of $5,000 to benefit the Canucks Autism Network (CAN). Two dollars from each $17 NHL charity pizza sold during the regular hockey season will be donated to CAN. Gooaal! Andreas Wechselberger (Ex-CinCin) Arrives At Red Card…

We’re very stoked to announce that Andreas Wechselberger has landed at Red Card. He was one of the city’s top toques when he ran the kitchen at CinCin a couple of years back, and has most recently been perfecting the art of sausage making at Oyama. A fine score, to say the least, and just what the doctor ordered for the place.
I reviewed – not altogether too kindly – the newish, Euro-themed sports bar in the paper last month, loving just about everything but the food, which didn’t meet my mid-to-high expectations. Landing a big fish like Wechselberger – whose Italian cuisine chops are super solid – is a solid step in the very direction I was hoping for, a move that has the potential to bring Red Card up to the level one would expect from a property umbilically associated with the Moda Hotel (which also houses Uva Wine Bar and the critically acclaimed Cibo Trattoria).
