Local Philosophy Catering’s ideals are simple, it is about people coming together to celebrate life and enjoy food. Whether locally grown, produced, foraged or raised we pride ourselves on sourcing the best local product we can get our hands on. Then we use classical influenced cooking techniques and seasonal inspiration to create menus that are suited to you and your guests for a truly personalized and unique event.
We are a full service caterer located in the Burough of New Westminster serving the locally sourced catering needs of all Greater Vancouver. We provide beautiful and inspired catering for Parties, Weddings and Events of up to 150 guests.
We were founded by Nathan Tower, a local Chef with 15 years experience in the local hospitality industry including Delta Hotels, La Belle Auberge, Parkside, Raincity Grill, Bishop’s and Savoury Chef Foods.

My man Douglas at the unfortunately named “New Gore” barbershop on Union St. (just east of Main) is an artist who cuts for just $9. While I suppose there are equally capable clippersmiths about who are just as cheap, what I dig about Douglas is that he’s all business. No small talk. He hardly says a word. His forté? Vancouver, BC | Chef Taryn and her team at local catering company, Savoury Chef Foods, proudly announce the launch of an exciting new weekly food event, ‘KIN: A Celebration of Food and Drink’. For four weeks only, beginning on October 20, 2010, Savoury Chef Foods will host a series of dinners at 560 Lounge in Vancouver, BC (560 Seymour St.) that will include a short reception, and several courses featuring the best products that BC has to offer.
Each week will feature its own unique menu, created by Chef and Founder Taryn Wa, and her team, to showcase their favorite fresh local produce and products from suppliers, including Pemberton Meadows Natural Beef, Sloping Hills Farms, North Arm Farms, Cropthorn Farms, Organic Ocean and more. To ensure the best compliment to each dish, Savoury Chef has invited local brewers and wine suppliers to take part in this series of events, pairing each menu with either local beers or wines from a respected distributor. Representatives from the local suppliers featured each week will be on hand to offer a glimpse into how their products are grown and created, and how this ultimately helps to create what will surely be an unforgettable meal.
