Mt. Pleasant’s Highly Anticipated ‘Como Taperia’ Staffing Up for October Launch

Vancouver, BC | Como Taperia is a 60 seat authentic Spanish tapas restaurant and bar opening in the heart of Mount Pleasant this October, 2018. We are absolutely in love with everything Spain and hope to spread the love here in Vancouver with great food, great drinks and great vibes. Our focus is on using locally driven produce and the absolute best ingredients Spain has to offer so we can deliver a one of a kind experience that’s hard to find outside Madrid or Barcelona.

In addition to service staff, cooks and dishwashers, we are currently looking for a passionate Sous Chef to come play an important role in our brand new spot. Assisting the Head chef with the day to day running of the kitchen operation as well as menu development, staff training and leadership.

This is an opening position and you will be on the ground floor for the first flight of our new endeavour.

What we want you will have:

– A positive make it happen attitude (truly fundamental)
– Formal Culinary training preferred
– Food Safe Certification
– Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
– Minimum of 2 year’s supervisory experience in similar roll or higher
– Must be self-motivated and be able to motivate a team.
– Ability to adapt quickly to change, and work efficiently under pressure
– Proficient written and spoken English communication skills in order to effectively interact with team members in a busy kitchen environment
– Computer proficiency specifically in Outlook, Word and Excel an asset.
– Ability to work a variety of shifts across 7-day opening hours, days, evenings and weekends
– Work experience in top quality establishments, and Spanish restaurants an asset
