Vancouver, BC | Homer Street Cafe and Bar is pleased to announce the appointment of Head Chef, Jeff MacIntosh.

Boasting 17 years’ experience in the culinary world, Jeff got his humble start in his hometown of Truro, Nova Scotia, as a line cook at Jungle Jim’s.

In 2006, he came west to work at The Westin Hotel’s Aubergine Grill in Whistler, BC before moving on to Trattoria di Umberto, where he was given the opportunity to create a special menu for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Since 2012, Jeff’s determination and talent have seen him placed in leadership positions ranging from First Cook, Company Chef and Executive Chef at some of Vancouver’s most respected restaurants, including Boneta Restaurant, where he worked alongside his biggest mentor, Chef Ciaran Chung; The Abbey; Dixie’s BBQ; Gringo Gastown; and most recently, Il Giardino Restaurant.

“Having the privilege to continually learn and attempt to perfect the culinary craft, inspire the younger generations and most of all making people happy with food is what I love most about being a chef,” MacIntosh says. “I’m very excited to start this new chapter at Homer Street Cafe, work alongside Executive Chef Tret Jordan, and help build out the restaurant’s comfort-meets-West-Coast food programme.”
