Vancouver, BC | Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Financial Controller is a key member of the Finance team, providing operational leadership and direction to the financial planning, consolidations, operational reporting, compliance and oversight functions of Toptable Group.
POSITION: Financial Controller
REPORTS TO: Director, Finance
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned from time to time)
– Prepares monthly venue financial statement and consolidated packages
– Supervises and reviews the completion of monthly reconciliations and the year end audit
– Establishes guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepares same
– Provides treasury management and periodic cash flow analysis
– Monitors cash and debt positions and prepares lender compliance packages
– Provides ongoing financial support to operational leaders
– Oversees accurate and timely delivery of weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reporting
– Designs, develops, deploys and reports on internal audit objectives
– Conducts process review for improvement and policy development
– Reviews and updates finance policies, procedures and internal controls
– Coordinates and leads the annual audit process, and tax return preparation
– Updates and implements all necessary business policies and accounting practices
– Performs special project work
Required Experience and Qualifications:
– Professional accounting designation: CA, CGA, or CMA
– Minimum 3 years’ progressive finance experience in the food & beverage industry
– Proven experience managing, leading and motivating staff
– Experience with process analysis and improvement
– Experience with complex budgets, forecasting, and analysis
– Knowledge of Sage 300 is an asset
– Ability to leverage technology to improve process efficiency
– Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
– Ability to handle conflicting deadlines and prioritize
