Centre A Dinner & Auction to Raise Funds for New Keefer St. Space

The West End’s swanky Westin Bayshore Hotel is the setting for Centre A‘s 19th Annual dinner and art auction, slated for Wednesday, March 21st. The gala is being thrown to gather funds for the art gallery’s expansion of their new, permanent Chinatown space at 268 Keefer Street.

It ain’t cheap at $150 per ticket but if you can find the funds you know it will be a good time for a good cause. The line-up of twelve participants is a stellar combination of young and established artists, including ceramicist Amelia Butcher, who is contributing two of her porcelain ‘Angry Girls’ plates to the auction. Add to that a delectable multi-course menu (including drinks), plus a performance by Hank Bull and a trio of special photo booths — there’s something to sate every appetite!

If you’re not familiar with Centre A, it’s Canada’s largest public contemporary Asian art gallery, which is a pretty neat bragging right for Vancouver. All of the funds raised from this event are going towards making the gallery’s new home bigger, better and more accessible. More specifically, plans include adding more individual galleries to the overall space and growing the library to include a multi-purpose Reading Room. Renovations are scheduled to begin in the Fall of this year, so help them to get off to a great start by grabbing your tickets here.
