Cass Darmanovic Joins Juke as Bar Manager, Launches New Cocktail List

The GOODS from Juke Fried Chicken

Vancouver, BC | Juke Fried Chicken is raising the bar yet again by welcoming new Bar Manager Cassandra (Cass) Darmanovic to the team and introducing a new list of signature cocktails available at the popular Chinatown chicken-and-rib joint.

Darmanovic, who honed her cocktail acumen and drink-slinging skills at such local watering holes as Hello Goodbye Bar and Mamie Taylor’s before recently joining Juke, has created a lineup of specialty libations to complement the restaurant’s trademark Southern-inspired fare and offers creative twists on both the classic and contemporary.

Infused with an array of fresh juices and housemade syrups, Juke’s rejiggered drink list features highlights like Murder She Wrote (tequila, PX sherry, Italian vermouth, Cynar, aromatic bitters), $10; Bad Medicine (rum, Fernet-Branca, lemon, vanilla, mint), $11; Guilt Trip (bourbon, Punt e Mes, Averna Amaro, lemon, egg white), $11; Smoke Signals (scotch, tawny port, pineapple, spiced honey, lemon, smoke & oak bitters), $12; and Under Your Spell (gin, Fino sherry, pear, green strawberry bitters, lime ginger beer), $11.

Juke will also serve up Old Fashioneds and Classic Negronis on tap for $13 and $11 respectively, as well as daily rotating drink specials, ‘Dealer’s Choice’ of spirit and style for $12 and weekend brunch favourites like Juke Caesars, $9; OJ or Grapefruit Mimosas, $9; and Ballin’ Mimosas (with Blue Mountain Vineyards & Cellars Brut), $15. Juke also features local craft beer available by the pint, bottle and bucket, a selection of wine and bubbles and non-alcoholic sodas and ‘mocktails’.

“It’s been a highlight for me to join the Juke family and an even bigger thrill to be able to put my own personal stamp on this cocktail menu,” says Darmanovic. “I’ve had a lot of fun in concocting this list and I can’t wait to shake up some unique drinks for old friends and new visitors.”

In February, Juke added a full complement of weekend brunch fare to its menu available every weekend from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including the Juke Breakfast Sandwich, $7; Biscuits & Sausage Gravy with Honey-Glazed Ham, $14; Chicken Hash with Soft-Boiled Egg, $16; Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, $19; Chicken and Waffles, $15/$18; Buttermilk Biscuits, $7; and Corn Chicken Fritters, $7.
