You Need to Try the New ‘Humans’ Brew from Parkside

You Need To Try This is a running archive of all the awesome drinks and dishes we’ve come across over the course of our professional and private lives (or at least the ones we had the presence of mind and patience to photograph before they got in our bellies).

I’ve been slowly savouring a short supply of Parkside‘s new Humans IPA these last few days and I’m totally smitten by its bright, tropical citrus crushability. I’ve shared the juicy new beer from the Port Moody brewery at both a rainy evening get-together and a sunny stoop afternooner, and on both occasions it’s been a delicious hit. The heavily dry-hopped, light gold brew – “an IPA for the people” – employs Cashmere, Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado hops and weighs in at a gentle 35 IBU and an impactful 6.3% ABV.

It’s the kind of striking IPA that gets me excited about potential food pairings, especially with spot prawn season coming up, so it’s a good thing it’s becoming more broadly available in liquor stores this week. Start at either 39th & Cambie or Legacy in Olympic Village. Or, for a sure thing, hit the brewery out in Port Moody. Also, dig the beautiful can wrap illustration by local designer Brendan Prince!
