The Dishes is a new Scout column that asks Vancouverites to walk us through a map of their ideal day and night on the town. We’re talking breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner and late night cocktails. Tax and tip included.
To help us kick this new column off we’re starting with Patrick Drozd, who co-owns Good Company Lager and the Main Street good times triumvirate of The Cobalt, The Boxcar and The American.
Good morning! What’s for breakfast?
Twisted Fork because I’ll have the option of baked eggs or Croque Monsieur. Their homemade bread and jam is also awesome.
We’re getting hungry again. What’s for lunch?
Crab Park Chowdery. I’ll wanna keep it light and save myself for some dinner. Plus breakfast was at noon so lunch is at 4pm.
Who makes you Happy Hour?
Mamie Taylor’s for some meatballs and fried green tomato sliders. Life hack combo washed down with $4 can of Good Company Lager. Finish it off with a Brown Derby Cocktail and Ron’s sarcasm.
OK, so what’s for dinner?
Savio Volpe. I’ll get the chef’s menu (for four people it’s $55–65 per person). Why? Because it’s Savio Volpe! The staff are number 1 and the attention to detail is on point.
And where are you taking us for late night cocktails?
The Keefer Bar, The Boxcar, and The Diamond.
All excellent choices! Some of my faves listed here
