Gastown’s Bauhaus Announces Winemaker’s Dinner Celebrating Rieslings of Robert Weil

The GOODS from Bauhaus

Vancouver, BC | On October 4th, Bauhaus will be hosting a special winemakers dinner, celebrating the Rieslings of Robert Weil. The brand ambassador of Robert Weil will join us for an impeccable 5 course dinner, showcasing 5 different Rieslings. We will be pouring the Kiedricher Trocken Riesling, the Rheingau Kabinett, the Grafenberg GG, the Rheingau Spatlese, as well as a mystery wine for the final course. Executive Chefs David Mueller and Tim Schulte will prepare a menu designed around these wonderful wines, and below they have given us a hint of what is to come.

With the Trocken, a scallop dish will be served. Scallops were chosen as they will work to showcase the wonderful apple and stone fruit notes, as well highlighting the minerality and salinity of the Trocken and flavours of the ocean.

The Kabinett will be served alongside pork belly. The rich apple, apricot, and honey notes are the perfect pairing to the fatty richness of the pork belly. The crisp acidity at the end of the Kabinett will keep your palate fresh and lively with every bite.

Paired with the Grafenberg GG will be an incredible duck dish. This will be where the true power of a GG Riesling will be shown off. The bright fruit notes will add complexity, while the long, drawn-out finish will allow the wine to stand up against the rich game tones of the duck.

With the Spatlese will be cheese – specifically the cambozola, Germany’s finest blue cheese.

Chefs David and Tim are keeping the final course a secret, along with its wine pairing. What will it be? Your guess is as good as ours. A little bit of mystery never hurt.

Tickets for this event are $200 per person excluding tax and 18% gratuity. Limited seating available. To guarantee your spot for this amazing evening, please email [email protected].

ABOUT BAUHAUS

Bauhaus-3

Bauhaus Restaurant is Vancouver’s newest award-wining upscale dining experience, delivering innovative techniques, fresh flavours, and exceptional service. The a la carte menu reflects a contemporary approach to German classic cuisine, while the seasonal tasting menu showcases modern European fare.

Located in Gastown, the restaurant is housed inside one of Vancouver’s most unique historic buildings, The Boulder Hotel, which was originally built in 1890. Over the last 100 years, the building has gone through many changes, from its early days as a saloon, to a bank, and, finally, a hotel. Led by Vancouver designer Andrea Greenway, we have designed the restaurant to work within this historic space, featuring a dining room, a large lounge area, and an open-concept kitchen.
