Chinatown’s popular Virtuous Pie – home to plant-based pizza and ice cream – is opening a new location in UBC’s Wesbrook Village this Fall. The 2,000 sqft space will seat 60 with another 40 fitting on the 400 sqft patio. Construction hasn’t started yet, but the plan calls for a tentative opening date at some point in November, 2017. Mason Studio out of Toronto will be doing the design. From the PR:
“We have been looking for a location on the west side of Vancouver for some time,” says Jim Vesal, Director of Culinary and Business Development. “Being close to UBC and the student community feels like a really great fit for us, for the type of food we serve and the entire vibe of the restaurant.”
The news follows the launch of Virtuous Pie’s second location in Portland, Oregon, which arrived on SE Division St. last month. They’re also aiming to open an address on Toronto’s College Street early in the new year. It will be a two-level 66 seater of some 1,500 sqft on two levels with an outdoor space.
