The GOODS from Mission

Vancouver, BC | On July 13th, Mission Kits at 2042 West 4th in Kitsilano introduces a new menu concept and new look to the room.

Top Chef All-Star Curtis Luk and Sommelier/Owner Chase MacLeod continue to lead the charge of well executed nose to tail and root to tip food, paired with quality wines and true craft cocktails. The core of the re-invigorated Mission will be a Northwest Pacific a la carte menu truly focused on the bounty and history of our amazing region.

During the process of filming Top Chef Canada All-Stars, Curtis found himself further inspired by the exploration of foods and techniques driven by each guest’s unique geographical regions. “I want to explore more of the rich history of this amazing region, while incorporating some of the indigenous cooking techniques and flavours this area has to offer. I really feel an a la carte menu along with family style shared plates best showcases this,” says Chef Luk. Some examples of this include his slow-cooked lamb belly with birch syrup and rye and potato bread, and maple-smoked pork jowl with rhubarb.

Sommelier/Owner Chase MacLeod will continue to delight guests with Mission’s Gold wine list (awarded by the the Vancouver International Wine Festival). He is excited for the challenge of pairing a unique selection of wines with Chef Curtis’ new vision and has some exciting new formats in store for guests and his team to explore. The new concept is rounded out by the talented Marc Smolinski, who is creating some of the city’s most innovative craft cocktails.

The team at Mission is inspired by the new direction of the menu and new look. “It feels like we are opening a new restaurant and I am excited for past guests and new ones to come and experience the new Mission in Kits”, says Chef Luk.

On the re-launch date of July 13th, Mission will be open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner and Saturday and Sunday for brunch.

About Mission

T5760x3840-00780

The food at Mission is based on well-sourced ingredients prepared with impeccable technique. We combine the best of the native land with the traditions and ingredients that have become available in our great region over time. There is a focus on sustainability with a true nose-to-tail philosophy resulting in outstanding value for the quality and presentation of the food that give guests a full experience of the bounty of the region.

The Mission dining experience is focused on our tasting menu. Chef Owner Curtis Luk creates these daily. There are two options for these – the $45 four course or $65 six course menu with a vegetarian version of both also available. In tasting room fashion, an eclectic wine list and optional wine pairings have been carefully selected by sommelier owner & manager Chase MacLeod to match every course. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff will lead the way in explaining the food and guiding through wine and beverage choices.

Our Lounge is focused also on local ingredients for well-crafted in-house cocktails led by head bartender Justin Darnes. The cocktail list is a blend of rarely seen classics aimed at the discerning connoisseur; appreciated by anyone. From the kitchen a daily selection of share plates inspired by the ingredients used in our tasting menus are available to be paired with these as well as wine & local craft beers.
