Vancouver, BC | As the warm weather arrives, so too does an ongoing series of monthly Summer Wine Dinners at Cibo Trattoria, where GM and Wine Director Mark Taylor will shine a spotlight on an array of notable wines on July 26, August 23 and September 20.

Each of the three monthly events highlight wines selected by Taylor, an award-winning sommelier who will provide a casual and informative overview of the wines before guests enjoy a multi-course menu featuring Chef Josh Gonneau’s signature brand of casual, rustic Italian fare.

Cibo Trattoria’s Summer Wine Dinner Series begins Wednesday, July 26 with “Bubbles and Bites” and continues Wednesday, August 23 with “Wines of Piemonte” before a final “Wines of Southern Italy” dinner on Wednesday, September 20. Tickets range from $89 to $98 per person, plus taxes and gratuity.

“We’re looking forward to providing guests with an entertaining and informative look at each region and the wines for which they are renowned without all the stuffy formality one usually encounters at wine dinners,” says Taylor, who is a member of the Board of Directors of the BC Chapter of the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers and a member of the Winery Selection Committee of the Vancouver International Wine Festival.

Cibo Trattoria’s Summer Wine Dinner Series comprises the following three events:

BUBBLES AND BITES
On Wednesday, July 26 at 6:30 p.m., Mark Taylor breaks out the bubbly and introduces guests to an effervescent selection of Champagne and Old World sparkling wines like Prosecco, Cava, Lambrusco and Asti Spumante, all paired perfectly with a four-course feast of Pacific Octopus, Pizzetta alla Salsiccia, Seared Scallops and Olive Oil Polenta Cake.
$89 per person, plus taxes and gratuity.

WINES OF PIEMONTE
Guests will take their taste buds on a tour of the celebrated Italian region of Piemont on Wednesday, August 23 at 6:30 p.m. when Mark Taylor highlights such classics as Barolo, Gavi and Moscato, as well as a few surprises that will complement a five-course dinner featuring rustic dishes like Fritto Misto, Vitello Tonnato, Truffle Gnocchetti, Brasato al Barolo and more.
$98 per person, plus taxes and gratuity.

WINES OF SOUTHERN ITALY
In the final installment of Cibo Trattoria’s Summer Wine Dinner Series on Wednesday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m., guests will have a chance to sip on some of the coolest grapes from one of Italy’s hottest wine-making regions. Mark Taylor will showcase an array of Southern Italian wines ranging from Negromaro and Aglianico to Falanghina and Greco dio Tufo. Warm-climate wines will be expertly matched with seasonal dishes inspired by the region.
$89 per person, plus taxes and gratuity.
