Art & Science Set To ‘Collide’ At Cafe Deux Soleils On Commercial Dr., June 21

Screen-Shot-2017-06-19-at-5.20

Curiosity and science collide on June 21st at the Collider Cafe: Art. Science. Transmission. The event is run by the inquiring minds of Curiosity Collider, an organization of three women with diverse backgrounds in the arts and sciences, whose mission is to keep Vancouver curious. The evening brings together five innovative speakers (ranging from a candy maker to geneticist to multimedia artist) to explore the intersections of art and science. Even if you didn’t make the grade in high school Chemistry, the Collider Cafe is sure to turn you on to science. Who could argue that school wouldn’t have been a helluva lot cooler – and attendance way higher – if speaker/scientist David Ng’s Pokemon-inspired biodiversity card game had been part of the curriculum? Plus, it all goes down at the chill, Commercial Drive vegetarian institution, Cafe Deux Soleils. Just don’t be late, as tardiness is still unacceptable!

Wed, June 21 | 8-10pm (Doors at 7:30) | Cafe Deux Soleils (2096 Commercial Dr.) | $5-10 | Details

Hit East Van for the 2nd Annual Vancouver Brewers Fest, April 19-28th

Since a single person (and liver) can only handle so many beers and beer-drinking celebrations, some prioritizing is in order. Topping off our list of events is the imminent (and, in our opinion, non-negotiable) Vancouver Brewers Fest.
