Vancouver, BC | Opening Soon (June 10th), Umaluma Organic Dairy Free Gelato is looking for Store Manager, Assistant Manager and Customer Service Staff.

We have created a healthy new generation of innovative gelato ice cream that combines some of the world’s finest ingredients available for truly unique flavours. The Umaluma retail location in Chinatown is not just a conventional ‘ice cream parlour’. Created by multiple award winning restaurant and store designers, Umaluma is a both a destination experience for customers to chill and hang out or simply a ‘grab and run’ with their favourite treat. We are creating an ethical and fun business with above average salaries and benefits. We are seeking like minded, enthusiastic and motivated key management staff to help steer us into the future of ice cream and our passionate, creative business.

Job Requirements:

-3-5 years restaurant, cafe, or other relevant experience
-Outgoing, friendly and highly organized with strong attention to detail
-Scheduling, staffing, and training
-Ability to handle all cash transactions including daily cash out reconciliations
-Excellent computer skills
-Have chosen a career in management and seek longterm employment and growth with our company

Must be able to work evenings and weekends and must love frozen treats!

Umaluma started with the simple desire to create a super healthy, non-dairy alternative to traditional Italian gelato — the yummy stuff that’s creamy, smooth and bursting with flavour. We set out to select only the finest ingredients we could find and combine them in exactly the right way. People often ask what Umaluma means? The short answer is; it means nothing and everything. To us, Umaluma stands for passion, goodness and spoonfuls of fun. We also like the way it sounds when you say it out loud a few times.

The magic of Umaluma comes from combining the finest organic ingredients available with confectionary and chocolatier techniques to create a unique plant based gelato. We take an artisanal approach to making our gelato base from scratch and hand prepare each Umaluma flavour to perfection.

We believe that a successful business should be more than just a way to sell a product and generate profit. Umaluma strives to make its staff, suppliers and customers feel great, knowing that every scoop is ethically sourced, of the highest standard, and spoon-lickingly tasty.
