Umaluma started with the simple desire to create a super healthy, non-dairy alternative to traditional Italian gelato — the yummy stuff that’s creamy, smooth and bursting with flavour. We set out to select only the finest ingredients we could find and combine them in exactly the right way. People often ask what Umaluma means? The short answer is; it means nothing and everything. To us, Umaluma stands for passion, goodness and spoonfuls of fun. We also like the way it sounds when you say it out loud a few times.
The magic of Umaluma comes from combining the finest organic ingredients available with confectionary and chocolatier techniques to create a unique plant based gelato. We take an artisanal approach to making our gelato base from scratch and hand prepare each Umaluma flavour to perfection.
