by Thalia Stopa | Lest you think the good ol’ neighbourly stroll is a thing of the past, Jane’s Walks is proving that the humble pastime is still a relevant community-builder around the world. On May 3rd, take the opportunity to explore UBC’s beautiful south campus and its public realm improvements along with your fellow Vancouver walkers and organizers Dean Gregory (Campus & Community Planning Landscape Architect) and Joanne Proft (Manager of Community Planning). Named for the Canadian urbanist and activist Jane Jacobs, the walk is designed to get your brain moving along with your feet. Topics this time will include the evolution of neighbourhood planning, sustainability and reconciliation.
