The GOODS from Liquidity Wines

Okanagan Falls, BC | Spring is a time for new beginnings and Liquidity Wines seizes the season with freshly curated experiences for wine and culinary enthusiasts alike. In addition to new wine releases, the modern Okanagan Falls winery has introduced a Community Dining Series, weekend brunch at Liquidity Bistro, and elegant dishes starring local in-season ingredients.

Running now until June 1, the Community Dining Series takes place around Liquidity Bistro’s cozy long table every Thursday at 6:30pm. Each intimate experience is crafted around a specific Liquidity wine: Dividend (April 20), Bubbly and Rosé (April 27), Riesling (May 4) and Chardonnay Estate (May 11). Executive Chef Simon Bouchard has crafted distinctive three-course menus and canapés, making for a unique dining series that pairs food with wines instead of the reverse. Dishes highlighted for the upcoming Dividend dinner include creamy beet soup with espresso and cardamom; Dividend-braised beef accompanied by roasted garlic mash and root vegetables; and delicate maple syrup pudding with vanilla ice cream. Menu details for each week, as well as booking information, are available on the events calendar online.

Sunny spring weather sets the scene for weekend brunch served alongside a spectacular vista of the vineyards, Nature Trust Lands and Vaseux Lake. Every Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 3pm, Liquidity Bistro serves up a range of daytime dishes, from light and healthy to dangerously decadent. Standouts include bread pudding French toast topped with Okanagan dried apricot compote and vanilla Chantilly; savoury asparagus and prosciutto eggs benedict; and chef’s signature bison burger served on a brioche bun with apple mustard and caramelized onion. All menu items are crafted using seasonal produce sourced from local farmers.

No visit to Liquidity is complete without bringing home the flavours of the Okanagan Valley’s best wines. Sample the winery’s latest releases at the tasting room or, for those who prefer door-service delivery, sign up for Liquidity’s Wine Club. In addition to a minimum purchase of one case (two six-bottle shipments) per year, membership includes early access to new releases, event tickets and exclusive access to select wines. Upcoming wines available for sampling or online orders include the 2016 Viognier, a popular selection with aromas of white peach, tangerine and a hint of coconut, rich on the palate with ginger on the finish; the 2015 Chardonnay Estate, an elegant wine with notes of citrus fruit, pear, hazelnut and crème brûlée; and the 2015 Pinot Noir Estate, medium-bodied and tasting of cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant followed by earthy notes and a hint of vanilla.

Winemaker Alison Moyes and the Liquidity team craft wines that express the personality of the vineyard while capturing the variation of the seasons. Liquidity’s light-filled tasting room and bistro boast rare art installations, stunning valley views and a range of estate-grown wines available to sample. Liquidity Wines tasting room is now open Thursdays to Mondays from 12pm to 5pm, and the bistro is open Thursdays to Mondays from 12pm to 8pm. Brunch is available Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 3pm. Visit the tasting room before brunch, lunch or dinner to sample wines and make a selection to pair with dishes in the bistro, or shop for a favourite bottle to take home and enjoy. The tasting room and bistro will be open seven days a week from April 27.
