‘Wine For Waves’ Brings Naramata Wines To The Vancouver Aquarium, April 28th

The GOODS from Ocean Wise

Vancouver, BC | Spring into wine season at the annual Wine for Waves on Friday, April 28, as more than two dozen wineries from the Naramata Bench Wineries Association bring their Spring Wine Releases to Vancouver for the season’s first tasting. For the fourth time, Naramata Bench Wineries Association has partnered with Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program to offer an unforgettable evening that combines the province’s best wines and sumptuous sustainable bites.

Hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, Wine for Waves welcomes wine and seafood lovers alike. Oenophiles can have their choice of gratifying grapes, with 27 wineries from the Okanagan’s Naramata Bench pouring their red, white, bubbles and rosé. Meet some of B.C.’s top winemakers and learn more about this spectacular region of B.C. wine country, home to these renowned wines.

A dozen Ocean Wise partners and chefs, from Holt Renfrew’s Holts Café to Forage to Vancouver Aquarium’s own executive chef Ned Bell, and Naramata wineries restaurant chefs, will be serving mouthwatering, ocean-friendly seafood to perfectly complement the local B.C. pours.

For those who find a tasting glass isn’t quite enough, a wine store courtesy of Everything Wine will be onsite with wines for purchase. There will also be an impressive silent auction featuring donations from the Naramata Bench Wineries Association of Naramata wines and unforgettable wine experiences.

Tickets for the event are $110 + tax and are available at www.vanaqua.org/wineforwaves. All proceeds from the event support Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program.

About Ocean Wise™

Overfishing is the biggest threat facing our oceans today. The Ocean Wise symbol next to a menu or seafood item is the Vancouver Aquarium’s assurance of an ocean-friendly seafood choice. The Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program works directly with restaurants, markets, food services and suppliers to ensure they have the most current scientific information regarding sustainable seafood and to help them make ocean-friendly buying decisions.
