Vancouver, BC | Les amis du FROMAGE is hiring a full time cook to oversee the preparation and packaging of frozen meals, soups, snacks and pates. The job is Monday to Friday — day-time hours.
Fundamental cooking knowledge including stocks, basic sauces, good knife skills
Basic food safe
Self-motivated and organized
Clean work habits. This is essential for the food packaging aspect of the job.
Able to withstand extended periods in the cooler and freezer.
Physically fit. Able to lift up to 25 kg. Able to work extended periods on your feet
A willingness to learn and take direction
You will be responsible for the preparation and packaging of all the prepared food for our two retail stores and wholesale customers. This includes soups, entrees, pates, and baked items.
Maintain cleanliness for the kitchen and food storage areas
Current shift is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. This schedule may change as volumes increase.

A starting wage of $16-$18 per hour, based on experience

A clean, spacious, well maintained and fully equipped professional kitchen.
Opportunity for growth. We would like to hire additional staff for this department so that we can pursue more customers. We would like someone to oversee and run all kitchen production and supervision of kitchen staff.
