Festive ‘West Coast Winter’ Pop-Up Market At Made By Pacific Workshop, Nov. 26

unnamed

The GOODS from Made By Pacific

Vancouver, BC | West Coast Winter – Vancouver’s community-focused pop-up event organized by local makers and small businesses – is back for it’s 2nd year at the Made by Pacific workshop in East Vancouver. The event will provide guests with a one-of-a-kind community experience where they can meet and mingle with members of their community in a fun, festive environment.

The event is organized by the West Coast Winter vendors themselves, all who have come together in the local community as friends and partners, supporting each other and their craft. Makers this year cover categories such as home goods, holiday wreaths and potted plants, hand crafted pet supplies, leather goods for him and her, vintage inspired clothing, gemstone jewelry, hand-made healthy samosas, and hand-dipped beeswax candles. More than your “average pop-up shop”, the team wanted to create a truly unique community experience that fosters connections, supports small business, and gives back to nonprofits in the area.

The PACIFIC workshop transforms into a festive holiday market, and this year the community lounge is being hosted by The Consortium – an online platform for Canadian made furniture and home decor. With local food vendors and beverage partners such as Main Street Brewing and Cocos Pure Coconut Water on board, guests can shop, mingle, and experience with all of their senses as they move through the space. Entry is by donation with all proceeds going to support WISH Drop In Centre Society, supporting women in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside community.

About Made By Pacific

Pacific is more than a woodshop, it’s a creative hub for design-driven craftsmanship. We’re made up of hands-on makers who create tailored solutions for products and experiences that stand out and spark conversation. Above all, we take pride in collaborating with local communities, businesses and homeowners to bring their visions, big and small, to life. Why? Because we love our city and we want to see it thrive.

Founded in 2010 by Brandon Nobbs, Pacific Solutions Contracting started as a one man construction company. A chance encounter, many sleepless nights, and a determined work ethic saw the young company land its first commercial restaurant space for the Donnelly Group’s Clough Club in 2011. From there, commercial construction was at the heart of what PSC loved to do, and it was a natural partnership with experienced hospitality worker Darren Elliott when the two joined forces in 2012.

With a team of 18 now on board, Pacific Solutions Contracting provides end to end, tailored solutions for commercial construction related projects. Specializing in the hospitality industry, PSC’s extensive knowledge and experience helps business owners build unique social spaces on budget and on-time. Some of the company’s most recent projects include Fable Diner, Juke, Cartems in Kitsilano, Bows x Arrows Coffee Roasters, Tacofino in Gastown, and many, many more delicious (and beautiful) spaces.

Sister company, Pacific Design Lab, was formed in 2013 by Brandon, Darren, and Alanna Rogers. By utilizing materials and off-cuts from some of the PSC jobs, the trio began building small products and furniture pieces for their homes, their friends, and their families – with great success! Launching a small webshop in December of 2013, PDL’s clientele has since expanded to include custom products for top restaurants and hotels, and wholesaling goods to some of Vancouver’s top home boutiques.

Pacific Design Lab’s style and design aesthetic developed very simply from what we love. Our style incorporates clean lines with modern elements, such as beautiful walnut or white-washed ash wood paired with hand-stitched leather or a deep, matte black steel table base. Many of our new products come from experimentation – hence the “Lab” in our name! Our Fuse Collection is a perfect example. Getting creative with the materials that we had on hand, we gave new life to off-cuts of wood by fusing them together with a food-safe, eco-friendly epoxy. The results are a stunning collection of furniture and serving boards that highlight the old-meets-new style we’re known for. Our pieces are naturally beautiful, easy to use and love, and often have customizable options to make it something truly special for our customers.

You will find Pacific Design Lab products or furniture at your favourite spots like Meat & Bread, Earnest Ice Cream, Earls Restaurants, Rogers Arena, Timbertrain Coffee Roasters, Farmer’s Apprentice, Nineteen Ten Home Boutique, Walrus, and many more.

Located just outside of Vancouver’s historic Chinatown neighbourhood, the Pacific workshop is your one-stop shop for “Instagrammable” products and spaces. Stay tuned to their website and social accounts for their open studio hours (especially around the holidays) and upcoming events. Their West Coast Winter Pop Up is not one to miss! Visits are by appointment so get in touch at [email protected] or 604 620 3993.
