The GOODS from Beach Bay Cafe & Patio

Vancouver, BC | Beach Bay Café and Patio is pleased to announce the launch of its brand new Fall menu created by Executive Chef Michael Winning. Chef Winning recently joined the team at Beach Bay after travelling the world. He has visited 88 countries and lived in 17 of them – and, not surprisingly, the cultures and cuisines he has experienced play a key role in his unique brand of cooking.

In his role as Executive Chef, Michael has brought Beach Bay’s menu back to a variety of simple dishes full of flavours and textures that showcase his global influences. There is a selection of small, medium and large plates that allow for guests to share amongst each other, or enjoy on their own.

Diners may select such tasty seafood creations as a seafood chipotle bowl featuring mussels, squid, shrimp, tomato, chipotle basil butter broth; or charred octopus with fingerling potatoes, cumin yogurt, watercress sauce, or wild salmon poké with avocado, charred scallion, pickled ginger, sesame cracker to name a few. For those who love their protein, there is grilled tri tip of beef with roasted squash, hand cut fries, corn salad, demi-glace; or roast pork tenderloin with orange ginger glaze, seared scallops, ratatouille, apricot tomato marmalade. And finally, vegetarian options such as a wonderful green lentil cassoulet with chickpea and mushroom ragout.

For the month of November, Beach Bay is offering a special 3 course tasting menu for $30pp to showcase samplings of their new Menu items.

With the cold, crisp weather upon us and the throngs of tourists gone, now is the perfect time to visit Beach Bay with its picturesque setting across English Bay. Enjoy a peaceful evening on the waterfront dining on new creations that are sure to impress and make the evening a wonderful and memorable experience.

About Beach Bay Cafe

Situated on Denman Street, just steps from the ocean at English Bay, Beach Bay Café & Patio offers fresh West Coast cuisine in its natural habitat. Proudly partnering with the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program, the team is pleased to use sustainably sourced ocean-friendly seafood to create simple and delicious dishes that can be enjoyed al fresco on the patio or inside the warm and welcoming restaurant.

Showcasing the freshest local ingredients of each season, Beach Bay’s West Coast inspired menu combines intricate flavour combinations with casual and comforting Canadian staples. Behind the bar, award-winning mixologist Adrian Lindner is placing the West End on the map as a destination for creative cocktails. His artfully crafted drinks menu offers a range of accessible and delicious cocktails that provide a multi-sensory experience, with bold ingredients such as pepper (in the Sunburnt Ginger) providing a unique twist on traditional recipes. The curated wine list includes hidden-gem wineries, unique boutique vineyards, and classic contemporary winemakers, accompanied by plenty of bubbles for celebrations.

Reflecting our pure and simple food philosophy, the newly refreshed interior is bathed in natural light and is softened by pale wood accents throughout. Bringing the outdoors inside, new touches include locally sourced timber and a soft colour palette that works in harmony with the artwork that adorns the walls, such as the large vintage sepia photograph from 1910 that portrays the historic English Bay neighbourhood.

In spring and summer the restaurant spills outside onto the heated patio for guests to soak up the stunning views over sunny lunches, and to enjoy evening cocktails while the sun sets over the bay. Popular with locals as a neighbourhood spot at the bustling cross-roads of Davie and Denman, Beach Bay Café & Patio is also a delight for visitors to discover when exploring English Bay – the fish and chips take-out window being the perfect way to enjoy a beach picnic.
