A Meticulous, Robot-Assisted Method Of Filming A Burger Cascade


(via) You know those fast food commercials where they miraculously drop all of the layered ingredients from on high and they all land perfectly into a gorgeous, delicious-looking handful of juicy fabulous? It’s a common enough device, so let’s assume you have. Anyway, this video by Director Steve Giralt reveals the complex ins and outs of the process, dropping meat, cheese, bacon, pickles, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, ketchup and mustard onto a sesame seed bun with little margin for error, nailing it in just three takes. It’s shot on Phantom 4k with a high speed motion control robot. Spoiler alert: it ain’t easy. In fact, it requires some cutting edge tech, not to mention a shitload of forethought. Bonus: ketchup and mustard catapults are a thing.
