The GOODS from Social Yoga

Vancouver, BC | The Social Yoga continues to fill its outdoor studio this summer with some fun collaborative events. Notable mentions include:

AUG 16TH: Yoga by Social Yoga followed by a Thug Kitchen Party Eats themed picnic. All food will be prepped by Jennifer Brott from My Edible Advice, who runs a monthly cookbook club, and guests will leave with a cookbook in hand so they can recreate their own party eats.

AUG 23RD: Yoga by Social Yoga followed by a workshop on Emotional Intelligence from Armin, the creator of the ever-earnest & clever Lost Boy Greeting Cards.

AUG 30TH: The ultimate feel-good way to end summer. Social Yoga will be leading a yoga class, after which the team from The Juice Truck will be on hand with ingredients for a Smoothie Blendoff. Participants will be placed into small teams and given the freedom to create their own smoothie recipe. Time to test your morning smoothie recipes up against some tough contenders!

TAKE A FIELDTRIP: DAY IN THE FOREST

SYXMMXMEXBH_FORESTWALKS

All summer long, Social Yoga’s been taking groups of people into the great outdoors for a day of hiking, yoga, and dinner. For the last one of this series, they’ve teamed up with Museum Eats & local naturopath and herbalist Marisa Marciano to host a day in the forest. Camille from Museum Eats & Marisa will lead the group through a forage & hike in the North Shore woods with plenty of tips on what not to eat (as well as what can be made into 100% all natural medicine). Following the hike, Social Yoga’s got you covered with a stretch in a secret garden and dinner will be provided by Bluhouse Cafe in Deep Cove. Registration here.

We are a nomadic studio. Breweries, cafes, and galleries are some examples of places we call home. It’s easy to find peace and calm when you’re in the studio-  where’s the zen when you’re in a line for a growler fill on a Friday night? We believe wherever you go, there you are.  And sometimes, it’s better to go where the food is good and the view is fresh.

Check in with our social media feeds to see what we are planning next.

About Social Yoga

DSC_0677

Social Yoga was launched at the end of 2014 as an alternative take on a yoga class experience. In a city full of fitness aficionados, we’re taking on yoga in a different way. We aren’t your everyday yoga class. Literally. Classes are organized by the series- meeting once a week for four weeks. This is yoga for the person who isn’t just a “yogi”- we all have lives and other interests too.

Everyone knows, bigger isn’t better. You aren’t just another member number with us. Class sizes are small, intimate, and conversational which means you get to ask questions and call the shots by deciding what it is you want to get out of the experience.

We bring Yoga down to earth and use it as a way to connect people with cool spaces, other cool people, and most importantly, to connect people to themselves. We call it ‘Therapy that Makes you Sweat”.
