Unique Kitchen & Retail Pop-Up Opportunity In Chinatown At ‘The Pie Shoppe’

Screen-Shot-2016-08-02-at-3.13

The Pie Shoppe, as we’ve noted previously, is evolving. The little operation at 721 Gore Avenue is going to temporarily shutter in Chinatown to focus on opening the new location in Hastings-Sunrise. During this time, sisters Stephanie and Andrea French want to share their creative space with someone who will benefit from the potential of a small working kitchen with a retail front. As the sisters explain:

We are looking for a young (but mature) individual or group of food creatives who are interested in taking advantage of our special space to incubate an idea in a pop-up environment. The space has a commercial convection oven, work benches, big ass windows, power, Internet, fridge, a couple freezers, all the sinks, and is surrounded by wonderfully supportive community.

A good fit for this space would be an individual or group of peeps with like-minded approach to business, someone who has in depth knowledge of food and local food trends; a sense of Vancouver’s growing community; strong commitment to food sustainability and supporting our local farmers and food producers; and an understanding of the importance of collaboration within this creative food industry, as this will create a more positive experience for you and your customers. We also hope you have a general or loose understanding of small business, sales, marketing and customer service, or at least are up for some practise!

Interested in rolling up your sleeves? Then propose your concept in one page or less (don’t forget to include details like name, contact information, some images, references, and/or collaborative partners. Also be sure to indicate whether you are interested in using the space for one week or one month (September). Direct all proposals and inquiries to Stephanie French by 5pm on August 10th by emailing thepieshoppeyvr [at] gmail.com.
