The Better Of The Pair Of Gangster Booths At ‘Chambar’ Is #60

Many months ago we posted a reader’s poll listing what we considered to be the top five restaurant tables in Vancouver. We received so much in the way of reader feedback – both positive and negative that we’ve decided to shine a brighter light on the subject, one excellent table at a time.

Since it was voted by Scout readers to be the very best among our picks for the hardest/best tables to get in the city in a previous poll, we’d be woefully remiss if we didn’t actually get around to singling it out for this column. Table #60 at Chambar is one of two semi-circular, bright red Gangster Tables in the restaurant. The old location of Chambar had a pair of similarly plush, enveloping booths that were equally good (#40 and #80), but one – #60 – is better than the other at the new address on account of its orientation in the southeast corner, which affords a fine view of the entire length of the restaurant, all the way to the front door.
