Vancouver, BC | 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters and Lucky’s Doughnuts are looking for a barista and a baker. Details for each position are as follows:

Barista Position | 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters in Kitsilano is looking for an enthusiastic, highly skilled, experienced and hard-working barista to join our team. We take pride in our direct trade sourcing program and our green coffee buyer and coffee education team offer a wealth of knowledge and opportunity to learn about coffee. We offer competitive wages, a positive work environment, and extended benefits after one year of full time employment.

The ideal candidate will have:

– At least one year of barista experience in a fast paced specialty coffee shop
– A good understanding of espresso and drip coffee methods
– Excellent customer service experience, an outgoing personality and the desire to continually improve the customer experience

– Enthusiasm about our products and an approachable personality
– Availability to work a variety of shifts between 6:30am and 8:30pm over a 7 day period

We are a happy team of baristas who love what they do and wish to add another member to our team who possess the same desire to learn and develop their skills and coffee knowledge. Baker Position | Lucky’s Doughnuts on Main St. is looking for a part time baker to join our talented team. This is a closing position with shifts from 1:30pm – 9:30pm, 4 – 5 days per week. We are a high volume kitchen looking for a hardworking, reliable, eager individual with an eye for detail and drive for consistency. Our aim is quality and we love working with beautiful, fresh, local ingredients (when available) to create a diverse, seasonally focused menu with all elements of the doughnuts made from scratch.

Duties include but are not limited to: making yeast dough, pastry creams, fruit fillings, scones and keeping a tidy station.

Experience is certainly an asset, but we are open to training the right candidate. 49th Parallel and Lucky’s Doughnuts offers competitive wages, tips, a positive work environment and extended benefits after one year of full time employment.
