The GOODS from Ancora

Vancouver, BC | Celebrate a sunny start to spring at Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio – one of the city’s premier restaurants – with new Sunday brunch and weekday lunch menus now available at the restaurant’s unbeatable location overlooking False Creek.

Recently named among Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants, Ancora also took home Best Seafood (Bronze) and was recognized as one of the city’s best new restaurants at yesterday’s 2016 Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. To celebrate, the all-star team is excited to announce the launch of new lunch and brunch menus beginning April 18. Chef Ricardo Valverde’s two new menus draw on his Peruvian heritage and Japanese influence to fuse fresh flavours for light lunches and tasty brunches that pair perfectly with the warmer weather.

“I’m blown away by the city’s overwhelmingly positive response to Ancora’s unique Peruvian-meets-Japanese cuisine,” says Chef Valverde. “I’m really excited to bring these flavours to traditional Sunday brunch and lunch in Vancouver. Putting a Latin spin on eggs benny has been a lot of fun; I wanted to bring them back and show that they’re not just for brunch, but can be enjoyed any time of day.”

Sunday brunch is served 11am until 2:30pm and features reworked classics such as Naturally Good Farm chicken and waffles with spiced syrup, avocado puree, house bacon and botanical greens ($16), alongside the signature steelhead trout benny, which comes with corn bread, poached eggs, organic peashoots, smoked hollandaise and a smoked paprika emulsion ($18). Take a seat in the sunshine and enjoy highlights of the daytime menu, available between 12-3pm on weekdays, including black rice paella with lingcod, chorizo, Peruvian corn, baby shrimp and smoked paprika emulsion ($27); and a version of the benny ($21), also offered at lunch.

Now open seven days a week, guests can make the most of sunny weather with $2 buck-a-shuck oysters on the patio, every day at cocktail hour between 3:30-5:30pm, and then stay on for a sunset dinner from 5pm every evening. Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8 is the perfect time to treat Mom to brunch and try the new menu at Ancora – bookings are now being accepted. To reserve, please visit Ancora’s website or call 604.681.1164.
