(via) We’ve coveted slides and detailed coasters before, but none quite as awesome as this alpine doozy that quickly winds its way down a mountain in the Grindelwald of Switzerland. While we understand that there would likely be plenty of opposition against the construction of a comparable equivalent on the North Shore (even it wound its way through the forests without a single tree cut down), that’s little impediment against our dreaming out loud of one. I mean, just look at the thing — those hairpins look gnarly! Imagine the length of the waiver form…

There are over 19,000 different manhole cover designs in Japan. They even make manhole trading cards! While Vancouver does have some artfully embellished manholes we nevertheless believe it would be very interesting to have their designs determined by the individual neighbourhoods in which they are found.
