(via) These renderings (yup, it ain’t real) depict a vision by Mexican firm Tall Arquitectos for a glass-floored luxury diner and bar that would hang out – rather dramatically – over the country’s 6,000 ft high Copper Canyon in southwestern Chihuahua state. Aside from the overall breathtaking, holy shit impact of it, what attracts us most to the so-called “Biré Bitori” concept is that it’s cantilevered from an especially high anchor. The design device is bridge born and common in high falutin’ architecture these days, but there aren’t that many restaurant precedents, and very few that jut so shockingly high in the sky. We’d happily take ours at the top (or near the top) of any one of YVR’s otherwise boring high rise buildings, especially if the tables came with their own grills (as shown below).
Oh please stop this craziness. When will you realize that every bit of sunshine and sky over ” someone else’s” land means something and makes a difference. Cantelevered anything is is theft of space. It’s not cool, nor is it original or different or cutting edge.
We will realize this when we receive further instruction from you.
