Making Ice Diamonds With An Old School Cocktail Master In Tokyo

(via) Munchies recently paid a visit to tiny Bar High Five in Tokyo’s Ginza district, where master cocktail craftsman Hidetsugu Ueno holds court with precision. He individually carves diamond-faceted ice cubes a la minute with a knife made of folded steel (samurai sword style). He has sharpened this tool every day for the past decade, diminishing its original length by an astounding two-thirds. Bonus: haircut. Superbonus: he doesn’t drink.
