One of the coolest tributes to David Bowie in the wake of his death has to be that of the 634-year-old Dom Tower in Utrecht, The Netherlands, which rang its bells to the thin white duke’s 1969 classic Space Oddity on Monday. Vancouver doesn’t have a lot of church bells because of a 1943 civic edict restricting their use (NIMBYs say what?), but they sure sound swell when rocking out. Who knows, later in 2016 our own Christ Church Cathedral on Georgia St. is finally getting a bell tower. We’re not the least bit religious, but we can appreciate the connection:
