A Work Of Latticed Deliciousness From The Pie Shoppe

FullSizeRender-(3)

We picked up a freshly baked pear pie from The Pie Shoppe girls in Chinatown yesterday afternoon and it’s already all gone. I mean, just look at the thing! With that broad lattice top and sweet filling bursting out at the seams…it’s almost obscene! And so deliciously appropriate for the season. Sisters Stephanie and Andrea French started with just two types of pies when we first profiled them back in 2012. Right now they’ve got nine flavours going:

Apple & Cinnamon
Chocolate Pecan
Pumpkin & Spice
Salted Honey
Walnut & Bourbon
Salted Chocolate Peanut Butter w. Espresso
Pear Ginger Caramel Almond Butter Crunch
Lemon Chess w. Orange Bitters
Cranberry & Apple with Brown Sugar Crumble

Order yours here. Bonus: They also do seasonal tourtiere stuff with either with happy lamb or happy pork. Also, if you’ve never tried their small batch coffee beans – roasted/sold under their own Panoramic Coffee brand – you really should. The beans are currently heirloom Kochere, from Yirgacheffe in Ethiopia. It’s a really bright coffee that’s a pleasure to wake up to with flavours reminiscent of a melon-sweetened Turtles chocolate. So good!
