Eat like a Social Motherf*cker.

The Social Yoga has partnered with local holistic nutritionist My Edible Advice again to host another round of Cookbook Club meets Yoga.

How it works: Over the course of three weeks, the club will go through Thug Kitchen’s new cookbook- Party Eats. Do an hour of yoga to get you hungry, and finish off class with a potluck-style dinner. Each member will receive a grocery voucher from SPUD and will be responsible for making one dish over the course of the series and sharing their experience with the crew. That way, by the end of the series, you will have eaten your way through the whole cookbook and be armed with some impressive recipes for your holiday dinners. Social Yoga 2016

While we’re almost ready to say goodbye to 2015, the Social Yoga is looking ahead and has a solid lineup for January that will be released soon. Until then, they’ve announced their first big event of the year:

Once again, The Social Yoga is shaking up the definition of a “Yoga Retreat”.

Spend an extended weekend away with an intimate group up at Big White Ski Resort. Spend all day on the slopes, stretch it out afterwards, and end the night with a hot tub and your drink of choice. For those who aren’t keen on snow sports, there will be daytime programming including an extra yoga class, meditation, and other activities.

What’s included:

– 4 days and 3 nights of accommodation
– All meals provided
– Transportation including pick up & drop off
– Daily yoga (or twice a day) & other programming
– Optional: lift ticket (save a few bucks when buying in a package!)

Spots are extra limited on this one. Sign up here.

We are a nomadic studio. Breweries, cafes, and galleries are some examples of places we call home. It’s easy to find peace and calm when you’re in the studio-  where’s the zen when you’re in a line for a growler fill on a Friday night? We believe wherever you go, there you are.  And sometimes, it’s better to go where the food is good and the view is fresh.

About Social Yoga

DSC_0677

Social Yoga was launched at the end of 2014 as an alternative take on a yoga class experience. In a city full of fitness aficionados, we’re taking on yoga in a different way. We aren’t your everyday yoga class. Literally. Classes are organized by the series- meeting once a week for four weeks. This is yoga for the person who isn’t just a “yogi”- we all have lives and other interests too.

Everyone knows, bigger isn’t better. You aren’t just another member number with us. Class sizes are small, intimate, and conversational which means you get to ask questions and call the shots by deciding what it is you want to get out of the experience.

We bring Yoga down to earth and use it as a way to connect people with cool spaces, other cool people, and most importantly, to connect people to themselves. We call it ‘Therapy that Makes you Sweat”.
