The GOODS from Les Amis Du Fromage

Vancouver, BC | Our East Vancouver store is smack dab in the middle of the Culture Crawl, a four-day visual arts, design and crafts festival receiving more than 20,000 visitors to 400+ artists in their studios across 78 buildings in the area bounded by Main Street, 1st Avenue, Victoria Drive and the waterfront. We’re hosting three new and exciting pop-ups over the weekend during Culture Crawl. Drop by November 21 & 22 and support these up and coming new businesses:

Mixers & Elixers | Saturday November 21 * 11am – 5pm
Mixers and Elixirs produces small batch shrubs made in Vancouver harvesting local produce. A shrub is also known as a drinking vinegar, a sweet and tart fruit based concentrate that can be enjoyed with soda water or used as a creative mix for cocktails. Stop by for a Culture Crawl pit-stop and try some samples.

Grain | Saturday November 21 * 11am – 5pm
GRAIN brings you farm-direct dry goods with a story – stories of real people growing food. They source Canadian products exclusively, choosing only the best they can find, from farmers and processors we know. They bring a fresh approach to dry goods – one that engages, questions, and encourages us all to reconsider the food on our tables and how it got there. Come and discover these exciting new products including Golden Quinoa, Kabuli Chick Peas, Laird lentils, and Wheat berries. Learn about how they are sourced, and last but not least…taste some samples.

SaltSpring Kitchen Co. | Sunday November 22 * Noon – 4pm
Melanie Mulherin of SaltSpring Kitchen co. produces a unique line of preserves made by hand in small batches from her sweet little jam factory on Salt Spring Island. Thoughtfully designed to pair with our beautiful local cheeses and charcuterie platters. We make your entertaining simple. Melanie has a great repertoire of jams, including:

– Meyer Lemon & Lavender Marmalade
– Pink Grapefruit & Rhubarb Jam-a-lade
– Blueberry & Basil Jam
– Sour Cherry, Rhubarb & Rosemary Jam
– Onion & Thyme Jam
– Spicy Tomato Jam
– Raspberry Habanero Jam
– Hot Mango Jam
– Candied Jalapenos
– Pear & Ginger Chutney
– Cranberry, Sour Cherry & Port Preserve
– Winter Wonderjam (Strawberry, Cranberry, Orange & Bourbon)

Drop by, taste some samples, and stock up your pantry.

About Les Amis du Fromage

store

les amis du FROMAGE is a family owned and operated specialty cheese store with two locations in Vancouver. With a carefully curated selection of local and imported cheeses, charcuterie and accompaniments, we also specialize in frozen soups and meals, all made in house using top quality ingredients.

Founded in 1985 by the mother and daughter team of Alice and Allison Spurrell, les amis du FROMAGE is proud to still remain a family owned and operated Vancouver company after over 30 years in business.

Current owners Allison Spurrell and Joe Chaput have come a long way since the original shoe-box sized store opened in Vancouver’s Point Grey neighbourhood. You can rest assured that their mission is to continue the company’s reputation of offering the highest quality cheeses, cut to order, along with one-to-one customer service.

les amis du FROMAGE is honoured to have been voted “Best Cheese Shop” by readers of The Georgia Straight, The Westender and The Courier, and has been awarded Vancouver Magazine’s Restaurant Award for Top Food Supplier to Vancouver’s best restaurants and hotels.
