The GOODS from Blue Mountain

Okanagan Falls, BC | Every year we release a selection of our R.D. (Recently Disgorged) vintage sparkling wines. These are wines that have been aged 4 to 8 years and have recently undergone the disgorging process to prepare for release. This year we are happy to release our 2011 Brut Rosé, 2008 Blanc de Blancs and 2007 Reserve Brut in time for you to enjoy for this holiday season.

On another note, 2015 was a spectacular year in the vineyard, and one of the earliest on record. Harvest is now complete, and we are enjoying the beautiful fall colours here in Okanagan Falls. The tasting room will be winding down for the season, but if you are planning to be in the area, please feel free to give us a call to arrange a tasting.

We will also be open the weekend of November 28th and 29th to celebrate the holidays!

About Blue Mountain

6
Blue Mountain is a family run vineyard and winery located in the picturesque South Okanagan Valley, overlooking Vaseaux Lake. The Mavety family has farmed this fertile bench since 1971 and founded the winery in 1991, with a commitment to sustainable viticulture practices and using exclusively estate-grown grapes.

The Philosophy

7
Blue Mountain strives to produce complex, age-worthy wines, consistent in style while allowing the expression of both the terroir and the individual season. The grapes that are harvested for Blue Mountain wines are sourced solely from its own vineyard. In the winery, Matt combines new technology with traditional techniques. The wines are handled minimally to ensure that the delicacy and intensity of flavours cultivated in the vineyard are expressed in the wine. French oak barrels are used in the cellar to soften and add complexity. All of these factors combine to result in a style and finesse fitting to the varietals. The 16,000-case yearly production consists of Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and four méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines, all from estate grown grapes.
