It’s High Summer, So Now’s The Time To Plan Your Winter Garden

by Sam Philips, Lisa Giroday and Maxim Winther | Yeah, yeah, we know it’s hot and really dry out (still thanking the rain gods for the recent sprinkle), but now is the time to consider utilizing Vancouver’s gloriously mild climate and start planting a winter and over-winter garden! Did you know there’s a large variety of crops that will happily stay in the ground all year long? These include broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage, garlic, spinach, chard, lettuce, onion…the list goes on. To help you get started, come to our upcoming Winter Gardening Workshop at The Juice Truck! You’ll learn all you need to know about growing 365 days a year and leave equipped with some seeds for winter growing. You can also check out our #vegeducational YouTube vid: Winter Gardening from our growing series: How To Grow An Organic Vegetable Garden. And, of course, you can always book us for some 1 on 1 Veggie Garden Coaching to learn how to grow food that is appropriate for your space.
