On Drum Circle Doulas & Calling Out Asshole Misogynist Neanderthals

by Sean Orr | Conservative MP Laurie Hawn attacks Canadian Businesses that raised concerns about Bill C-51. You just know that the Conservatives see Ryan Holmes as some internet nerd and not an incredibly successful millionaire or else they would be treading a little more carefully. It’s also weird that The Nest is in the old CSIS building. Just sayin’.

Tom Mulcair responds, via Facebook.

And now everyone’s in a dead heat? Coincidence? New numbers suggest federal NDP in three-way tie with Tories and Liberals. What have numbers ever done for us though, really? The aqueduct

The CBC are narcs: Chris Lloyd, Conservative candidate, ‘messing with’ party. That the Conservatives allowed this to happen is the real takeaway. After all, “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity…”

Speaking of stupidity: Canadian reporter confronts men who disrupted broadcast with sexist remarks. Say bye bye to your 100k/year job, moron.

Go team: Christy Clark appoints LNG industry leader to B.C.’s new Climate Leadership Team. So, the team was assembled to see how we can meet B.C.’s greenhouse gas reduction targets while investing millions in LNG infrastructure? Um, even I could have done better, Christy. Expect an invoice in the mail.

Christy Clark says no to taxing foreign real estate investors. “Clark is satisfied with the current market and worries that if taxes on foreign real estate investors are implemented, housing prices will drop…” That’s the whole bloody point! ‘We can’t make housing more affordable because it would make housing more affordable…’ We’re doomed.

More incredible Vancouverism via the Craigslist of the day: Drum Circle needed for Home Birth:

We are seeking musicians, drummers, jambe players for our home birth. My child is due in mid-September and we’re welcoming it into our home, surrounded by friends, family and our midwife.

We are seeking 5-20 drummers to start a drum circle around the living room. The rhythm and vibe is very important during birth, and this will ensure a smooth transition for the Little One. Drummers will sit around in a circle, backs turned, and play music until the baby is born.

Vegan food will be provided. All skill levels welcome.

Schadenfreude of the day: Kevin O’Leary did not do very well on Celebrity Jeopardy! “What better test then of his free-market principles than a ruthless competition in which the strong prevail and the weak perish?”

Bonus: Translink Compass Card exposed.
