The GOODS from Ocean Wise

Vancouver, BC | Canadian culinary heavyweights will pair up with the Naramata Bench Wineries Association on April 30th at the elegant Terminal City Club for the wildly anticipated EAT Canadian Flavours Gala, hosted jointly with the new, glitzy version of the EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival.

The Terminal City Club dates back to 1892, so foodies and wine lovers can expect an elegant ambience. To make a delicious situation even better, the Gala has joined forces with Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program. Partial proceeds from ticket sales and all proceeds from the “wine and experiences” auction will support the Ocean Wise sustainable seafood program.

Guests are advised to arrive hungry, thirsty and ready for a taste bud treat as they wander from table to table, creative dishes from some of the country’s most celebrated chefs, while sampling the spring releases from the Naramata Bench Wineries Association.

Chefs from 15 restaurants, many of them Ocean Wise partners, will contribute their talents to the unforgettable gala fare. They include Vancouver’s Edible Canada and YEW seafood + bar, Naramata’s Hillside Winery & Bistro Vanilla Pod at Poplar Grove Winery, and The Kitchen at Misconduct Wine Co., Calgary’s River Café and The Westin Edmonton as well as the Vancouver Aquarium’s catering team.

Twenty four wineries from the Naramata Bench Wineries Association will be pouring at the Gala. They include La Frenz – named Best Small Winery of the Year in 2013 and 2014 at California’s Riverside International Wine Competition – and Lake Breeze, which was named one of the top 20 wineries in Canada in 2014 by the National Wine Awards. Guests can also sip spring selections from Kettle Valley, Elephant Island, Bench 1775, Van Westen, Serendipity, Red Rooster and newcomers Terravista and Tightrope.

Throughout the evening, guests can bid in the silent auction for Naramata wine and travel packages. Whether the victors are seeking to add to their cellars, collect a special bottle or two, or purchase a Naramata wine country getaway, they will leave the event with delectable mementos of a fun-filled evening that supports Ocean Wise.

Please note that this is a 19-plus event. Tickets are $125 + tax and include admission on select days to the EAT! Vancouver Festival, which runs April 26 to May 3. To avoid disappointment, purchase your tickets today at www.eat-vancouver.com/canadian-flavours-gala.
